Driver Opportunities – Manchester Depot
We are currently looking for Drivers who hold a Class 1 licence to join our team at our Manchester Depot.
Main Tasks:
To undertake the collection, moving and delivering of cargo as instructed by the Operations Managers and Warehouse Manager/Supervisor. Completion of Company records. For this role an ADR qualification would be advantageous.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of all vehicles driven during the shift.
- Drive vehicle from depot to loading/unloading point;
- Assist with loading/unloading and ensure that load is evenly distributed and safely secured;
- Drive vehicle to destination in accordance with schedule;
- Maintain records of journey times, mileage and hours worked;
- Undertake and notify supervisor of any minor repairs or mechanical faults.
- Actioning requests given by operations personnel in a timely and efficient manner
- Providing real time information by keeping in touch with the operations department
- Ensuring Company plant and equipment are used correctly and safely
- Ensuring all cargo discrepancies are correctly identified, recorded and notified to the relevant department manager
- Reporting without delay, all issues effecting safety and security of vehicles, the warehouse, colleagues and visitors, to the relevant department manager
